Kings River High School is Blazing New Trails in CTE by bringing construction classes to its campus. In the last two years we were the first continuation school ever, with help and support from both Fresno ROP and Valley ROP, to: partner with Tiny House, Inc. (www.thinc.build) to build our own tiny home, to participate with the Construction Industry Education Foundation/Central California Builders Exchange DESIGN BUILD COMPETITION (DBC), and to certify with and use Builders FirstSource READY FRAME system. We will share details about all 3, including how important an effective SEL program is in implementing these programs and some feedback about managing expectations within this framework.
